SPORTS MODE

SUBJECT: Carol Soliven

This photo is very effective because the door frame is framing Carol and her hair is in mid air, which is the action. Also, her skirt happens to be a contrast. The ISO was 100 because it was really sunny outside and it was on sports mode because I wanted to catch the action without getting blurry.

Studio Post: Heart

STUDIO POST: HEART

NO FLASH MODE

SUBJECT: Elijah

This photo was very effective, because not only did this picture capture good shadows, but it captured the light of the heart in Elijah's eye. The camera was on no flash mode, because I did not want the flash to mess up the studio lights. I tried portrait mode, but it came out fuzzy and so did landscape. The ISO was 900, because even though there were studio lights it was dark inside the classroom.

LANDSCAPE MODE

SUBJECT: Angelica Rodriguez

This photo was effective because the bushes is the frame and Angelica is the person being framed. This idea occurred to me while passing by this push and seeing a hole in there. I had to move a couple of branches to get the best frame possible. The ISO was 800 because it was a sunny day and it was on landscape mode because I wanted the frame and the subject to be in focus.

CHALLENGE: Skies/Symmetry

LANDSCAPE MODE

SUBJECT: Apartment Building

This was ineffective, because of the edge of the apartment building. Had that edge not been there, this would have been very effective, because if you fold over the apartment, you'd have the same parts and the sky. This was taken with an ISO of 800 because I forgot to change it. It was a bit cloudy out that day, so it should've been 200 or 400. If I had another chance at this challenge, I would take a picture of Curtis because this school has a lot of symmetry and is high enough to go into the sky.

Bugs:Pattern

CHALLENGE: Bugs/Pattern

PORTRAIT MODE

SUBJECT: Spider

This photo wasn't very effective in pattern wise, but very effective bug wise. This spider was crawling on the monument outside of Curtis. This photo took, at least, 20 tries because it was hard trying to get the spider in focus, getting it in the right spot, and not scaring it to fall down. The ISO was on 800 because it was a very sunny day. Even though I hate bugs, this challenge was very fun and helped me explore my creativeness. 

Double Composition

DOUBLE COMPOSITION

PATTERN, CONTRAST, DISRUPTION

This photo was very effective because the gate chains make the pattern, but the blue recycling bin contrasts and disrupts the gate. This photo was taken with a ISO of 800 because it was bright out that day and there was no need for extra assistive lighting from the camera. This was taken on landscape mode because I wanted to capture the whole gate and the bin all together rather than just a piece of the gate.
